History

I started Poliquin Machinery in 1995 but I've been in the machine tool business, as a machinist or in sales for over twenty years now. I started selling used machinery about fifteen years ago. When I went out on my own I wanted to sell new machines as well.

We had some real successes and then in 1999 I started selling OKK machining centers. Right about then the power generation industry was exploding and GE had a shortage of turbine blade machining capacity. OKK has the best machine for the job. A dual spindle, 50 taper VMC with dual Matsumoto rotaries that has no equal in the industry! I sold eight of those chip-making monsters in 2000/2001. After our customer was as happy as they thought they could be, we developed an adaptive control software that cut the cycle time by 30%!

Since then quality lines have been seeking us out. Yes, I've been blessed indeed in the last few years, and I've taken this opportunity to expand the services that we offer at Poliquin Machinery. I've hired new sales and office staff of the highest caliber. Our salesmen have hands-on experience in a variety of backgrounds from micro machining and machine tool building to shipbuilding. We have applications expertise in 3, 4 & 5-axis machining as well as high speed machining. Our office staff speaks "machinist's" language. They can help you with financing, accessories, spare parts and service.

We've assembled a fine line up of machine tools that will help you meet the demands placed on you in today's competitive economy. Milling, turning, grinding, rapid prototyping and the tooling you need to bring them altogether. And we service what we sell. Just being in the manufacturing field is evidence that you have high expectations of your own performance. It's only reasonable that you should expect the same level of performance from the machine tools that you use and the people that you purchase them from.
